Secure Data Transfer via SSL

Without SSL encryption (HTTPS), modern payment methods are no longer supported. Additionally, browsers will flag your shop as "insecure."

Enabling HTTPS in the Backend

  1. Ensure that your SSL certificate is active in cPanel (AutoSSL).
  2. Go to Stores > Configuration > General > Web.
  3. Open the Base URLs (Secure) section.
  4. Change the URL from http:// to https://.
  5. Set Use Secure URLs on Storefront and Use Secure URLs in Admin to "Yes".
Important: When you save these settings, Magento will likely log you out. Log back in using the new HTTPS address.
