Setting up Email on iPhone (iOS)
Learn how to add and optimally manage your email account on your iPhone. Please have your email address and the corresponding password ready.
Step-by-Step: The Setup
- Open Settings > Mail > Accounts > Add Account.
- Select Other and then Add Mail Account.
- Enter your name, email address, and password.
- In the next window, select IMAP at the top.
- Incoming & Outgoing Mail Server:
- Hostname: mail.yourdomain.ch
- Username: Your full email address
- Password: Your email password
- Tap Save. The iPhone will now verify the settings.
Important: Replace yourdomain.ch with your actual domain.
Setting up a Signature
Would you like to change the text "Sent from my iPhone"? Go to Settings > Mail > Signature. Here you can set a separate professional signature for each account.
Editing & Deleting Emails
If you receive the error message "Unable to Move Message" when deleting an email, it is usually due to incorrect folder mapping:
- Go to Settings > Mail > Accounts > [Your Account] > Account Settings > Advanced.
- Under "Mailbox Behaviors," select Deleted Mailbox and ensure it is assigned to the Trash folder on the server.
