Configure Important System Notifications

To ensure you are immediately informed of critical events – such as a nearly full disk or security alerts – your contact information in cPanel must always be up to date. Here you can define which information is sent to which address.

cPanel Contact Information Interface

How to Change Your Contact Data

  1. In the first field, enter your primary email address (ideally an address that is not hosted on this server, so you remain reachable even during disruptions).
  2. Optionally, provide a second address for safety.
  3. Select your desired notification settings (see below).
  4. Click Save.

Recommended Notification Settings

We recommend keeping at least the following options enabled to avoid jeopardizing your website's operation:

Disk Quota: Notifies you when your web space or email storage is nearly full.
SSL Certificates: Info about expiring certificates (important for your visitors' security).
Security Logins: Receive an email when someone logs into your account (protection against unauthorized access).

AutoSSL Notifications

AutoSSL ensures that your website is automatically encrypted. Here you can set the information level:

  • Only failures and deferrals (Default): You will only be informed if something did not work. This is the recommended setting to avoid unnecessary emails.
  • Disable AutoSSL: Not recommended, as you risk your website suddenly being marked as "insecure" without you noticing.
Security Tip: Enable the option "Someone logs into my account". This way, you will immediately notice if your credentials fall into the wrong hands.
