Efficient User Management in cPanel
The User Manager is your central hub for controlling access for employees or partners. Instead of managing separate logins for Email, FTP, and Web Disk, you can create sub-accounts here that combine all required services into a single account.

Creating a new user (sub-account)
To create a new access account, click "Add User" in the top right corner. Fill in the following sections:
| Section | Description |
|---|---|
| Identity | Name and desired username. Ensure the correct domain selection. |
| Contact Email | Essential for the "Forgot Password" function. The reset link will be sent here. |
| Security | Let the user set their own password or assign a secure password yourself. |
Configuring Services
You decide exactly what the user is allowed to do:
- Email: Automatically creates an email account. You can limit the storage quota individually.
- FTP: Ideal for web developers. You can restrict access to a specific directory (e.g.,
/public_html/project1). - Web Disk: Allows managing files like a cloud drive. Choose between "Read/Write" or "Read Only" access.
Linking existing accounts
Have you already created an email account and an FTP account with the same name? The User Manager automatically recognizes this and offers you the "Link" option. This merges the individual services into a clean sub-account.
Login data for sub-accounts
Logging in varies depending on the service:
https://yourdomain.ch:2096FTP: Via a client (e.g., FileZilla) using the chosen username & password.
Web Disk: Via operating system integration or port 2078.
