The Foundation of Your Website: A Clear Menu

A good website is characterized by the fact that visitors find the information they want quickly. With the Kopage Website Builder, you manage your page structure and navigation menu centrally in one place – flexibly and easily via drag & drop.

Golden Rule: Keep your main menu simple. More than 5 to 7 main items tend to confuse visitors. Instead, use submenus for more detailed content.

1. Adding New Pages

To expand your website, proceed as follows:

  1. Click on Pages in the top navigation bar.
  2. Select Add New Page.
  3. Give the page a name (e.g., About Us or Services).
  4. Choose whether the page should appear directly in the menu or be created as a hidden subpage.

2. Organizing Menu Structure via Drag & Drop

You can change the order of your menu items at any time:

  • In the Pages manager, you can see a list of all your pages.
  • Grab a page with the mouse and drag it to the desired position.
  • Creating submenus: Drag a page slightly to the right under another menu item. It will automatically be displayed as a "dropdown" in the navigation.

3. Page Settings & SEO

URL Customization
Change the "slug" (e.g., /our-mission instead of /page2) to make your links readable and search engine friendly.
Visibility
Set pages to "Hidden" if you are still editing them but do not want to publish them for visitors yet.

4. Footer Menu

Important legal pages like Imprint or Privacy Policy usually do not belong in the main menu. In the page options, you can specify that these links should only appear in the Footer (at the very bottom of the page).

Navigation Tip: Always link your logo to the homepage. Visitors are used to returning to the start by clicking on the logo.
