Turbo Mode: Correctly Configuring Joomla Performance and Caching

A fast website ensures satisfied visitors and a better ranking on Google. Joomla already runs extremely fast on CURIAWEB's NVMe servers – with these settings, you can push it to the maximum.

1. Activate Joomla Caching

Joomla buffers ready-made page content so that it doesn't have to be recalculated for every visit:

  • Go to System -> Global Configuration -> "System" Tab (then look for Cache settings).
  • For "System Cache," select the option "ON - Progressive Caching".
  • Click Save.

2. Use Gzip Compression

This sends your data to the browser in a compressed format, which massively reduces file sizes:

  • Go to System -> Global Configuration -> "Server" Tab.
  • Set "Gzip Page Compression" to "Yes".
Pro Tip: Additionally, use the "System - Page Cache" plugin to drastically reduce loading times further for returning visitors.
