Correct configuration of base URLs and cookie policies is crucial for the accessibility and legal compliance of your Magento 2 shop.

Setting Base URLs

Under Stores > Configuration > General > Web, you define your base URLs. Ensure that both the "Base URL" and the "Base URL (Secure)" are set with https:// to guarantee continuous encryption.

Cookie Settings & CMS

  • Cookie Restriction Mode: Enable this under "Default Cookie Settings" if you want to use an integrated cookie banner.
  • Default Pages: Specify which CMS page should serve as the Home Page and which as the 404 Error Page.
Note: Enable "Use Web Server Rewrites" so that your URLs look clean (e.g., without index.php in the address).
