Sell Internationally, Bill Locally
For Swiss merchants, CHF is the base currency. However, Magento 2 allows you to easily add additional currencies (EUR, USD) for international sales.
Activating Currencies
- Navigate to Stores > Configuration > General > Currency Setup.
- Select Swiss Franc under "Base Currency".
- Under "Allowed Currencies", select all currencies in which customers are permitted to pay.
Updating Exchange Rates
Under Stores > Currency > Currency Rates, you can enter rates manually or configure an import service (e.g., Fixer.io) that automatically updates conversion prices daily.
Swiss Tip: Note that rounding rules for the Swiss Franc (5-cent rounding) often require clarification via additional extensions or customizations.
