Catalog and inventory settings determine how your products are presented and how the system reacts to out-of-stock items.
Catalog Configuration
Under Stores > Configuration > Catalog > Catalog, you will find options for the frontend:
- Product Reviews: Enable or disable customer reviews.
- Search Engine Optimization: Decide whether product URLs should include category paths.
Inventory Management
Under Catalog > Inventory, you control the logic of your stock:
- Manage Stock: Determine if Magento should automatically decrease stock levels.
- Backorders: Allow orders even if the item is not physically in stock.
- Low Stock Threshold: Get notified when a product is almost sold out.
Performance Note: For large catalogs, the use of Elasticsearch is mandatory. Our Magento packages support this natively.
