Efficient Teamwork through Shared Resources

The Calendar and Contact Sharing function allows you to grant other users within your cPanel account access to your appointments or address books. This is ideal for coordinating meeting rooms, team vacation planning, or maintaining a central customer list.

Sharing Calendars and Contacts

Important Requirement:

Sharing is only possible between email accounts hosted on the same cPanel account. You must have at least two email addresses set up to use this function.

How to share a collection

In cPanel, navigate to the Share Collection area and follow these steps:

  1. Select Owner: Choose the account that owns the calendar/address book.
  2. Select Collection: Decide which resource should be shared.
  3. Share With: Select the recipient of the share.
  4. Permission: Enable "Allow Editing" for write access or leave it disabled for read-only access.
  5. Click Create.

Managing Permissions

In the Shared Collections table, you always maintain control over who has which rights:

Action Description
Allow Editing Grants the user write permissions retroactively.
Deny Editing Revokes write permissions (user becomes read-only).
Delete Completely revokes access to the collection.
Note on meeting invitations: In a shared calendar, you can only invite participants to an event if you are the creator of that specific entry.
