What do I need before I start Kopage? #
You need an active CURIAWEB hosting account where the Kopage Website Builder is available, as well as access to the corresponding cPanel.
A separate Kopage installation on your computer is not required. Your website is edited via the browser.
Open Kopage in cPanel #
Log in to your cPanel first.
After opening cPanel, you will find the Kopage Website Builder at the very top as the first icon.
Click on this icon to open the website builder.

Why is Kopage launched via cPanel? #
cPanel is the central management interface for your CURIAWEB hosting. There, you can manage domains, email accounts, files, databases, and various technical settings, for example.
Kopage, on the other hand, takes on a different task: with the website builder, you create and edit the actual content and design of your website.
You can think of the distribution in simple terms like this:

What happens after clicking Kopage Website Builder? #
After calling, you will reach the area designated for the website builder. There you can continue setting up or editing your Kopage website.
The options displayed to you may depend on whether a Kopage website has already been set up for your hosting or domain.
For a new website, you perform the initial setup. For an already existing Kopage website, you can reopen it and continue editing.
Important: Kopage is integrated into the CURIAWEB hosting environment. Therefore, for your CURIAWEB website, use the entry via the Kopage icon in your cPanel.
What domain should I use for my website? #
If multiple domains or subdomains are assigned to your hosting account, make sure you set up or edit the website for the correct domain name.
For example, different hostnames can exist within a hosting account:
example.ch
www.example.ch
shop.example.chTherefore, check before setup which domain your Kopage website is intended for.
What if my domain is still registered with another provider? #
The domain does not necessarily have to be registered with the same provider as your web hosting.
Crucially, the domain must be connected to the correct hosting infrastructure via its DNS configuration.

Does the domain already have to be working before I start with Kopage? #
For a publicly accessible website, the domain, DNS, and hosting must ultimately work together correctly.
If you have just registered a domain or changed the DNS configuration, it may therefore make sense to first check whether the domain is already pointing to the intended hosting environment.

What do I do on first launch? #
When you first start out, you shouldn't try to set up all the website builder's features right away.
Start with the basic decisions for your website: design, page structure, and content.

Can I edit an existing Jimdo website later? #
Yes. You can reopen the website builder later via cPanel and continue editing your existing website.
So you don't have to complete the entire website on the first call.
Texts can be updated, images replaced, pages added, and other settings changed later.
Do I need to install WordPress or another CMS? #
No. If you want to create your website with Kopage, you do not need an additional WordPress installation for it.
Kopage is the very tool with which you build and maintain your website.
WordPress and Kopage are different systems. For a single website, you should therefore first decide which system you want to use to run it.
Important: Do not install WordPress additionally into the same target directory of an existing Kopage website. Different website systems should not uncontrollably use the same files or the same web directory.
What if there is already a website on the domain? #
You should be particularly careful here.
If a website is already running under the intended domain, you should not simply install or publish a new website over it without considering the existing installation and available data.
This applies, for example, to existing WordPress websites, other CMS systems, or manually created websites.
Before making a change, check which files and applications are already present and whether a backup of them is still needed.
Attention: If a productive website is already running on the domain, back up the existing data before making fundamental changes to the website installation.
Can I use Kopage for a subdomain? #
A subdomain is a separate hostname, for example:
projekt.example.ch
Whether and how it is used as a destination for a website depends on the setup within your hosting account.
When working with subdomains, you should ensure that the desired hostname is correctly configured and points to the intended destination.
What is the difference between cPanel and the Kopage Editor? #
You should not confuse these two surfaces with each other.
cPanel is responsible for the technical management of your hosting. There you will find features for, among other things:
- Domains and DNS,
- Email accounts,
- Files,
- Databases,
- SSL and security,
- PHP and further hosting settings.
Kopage do you use it instead for building your website, for example for:
- Pages,
- Navigation,
- Texts and images,
- Design,
- Forms,
- Blog and other website features.
For example, if you need a new email mailbox, you don't do that in the Kopage editor, but via cPanel.

What if the Copage icon does not appear? #
If the Kopage Website Builder does not appear in your CURIAWEB cPanel, even though it should be available for your hosting, you should not attempt to install Kopage manually from another source.
First, check if you are logged into the correct cPanel account.
If the icon is still missing there, contact CURIAWEB Support so that the hosting configuration can be checked.
What if Kopage doesn't start after clicking? #
If the Kopage icon is present, but the website builder does not open as expected, first check whether the problem persists after reloading the page.
Testing in another browser or a private browser window can also help determine if a local browser session is involved.
If Kopage still cannot be opened, the hosting or Kopage integration should be checked.
