Targeted hosting expansion: Additional options and add-ons in the customer center #
Not every new requirement for your hosting immediately makes a switch of the entire hosting package necessary. If you merely need a certain additional function, you can, depending on availability, upgrade your existing product with a Additional option or a Add-on expand.
This allows individual services to be added specifically to an existing product. Which additional options are available depends on the respective hosting package and the desired extension. You can view and order the available add-ons directly via the CURIAWEB customer center.

What are additional options and addons? #
Add-on options are supplementary services that can be combined with an existing CURIAWEB product. Instead of switching to a complete hosting package, you specifically add a feature that you actually need.
Depending on the product and current offer, additional security, email, or technical services may be available, for example.
This is especially practical if your existing hosting is still sufficient in terms of storage space and resources, but you need a specific additional feature.
When does an additional option make sense? #
An additional option makes sense if your existing hosting basically fits your requirements and only needs to be supplemented by a specific service.
Typical situations could include, for example:
- You want to enhance the protection of your email addresses.
- You need an additional technical function for a project.
- You want to use an optional security feature.
- You need a dedicated IP address, provided it is available for your product.
- A specific add-on service is to be activated for only one of your hosting products.
Note: Which additional options are actually available depends on the respective CURIAWEB product and the technical configuration. Not every add-on can be combined with every hosting package.
Examples of possible additional services #
Which extensions are offered can vary depending on the product. One possible additional service is, for example, SpamExperts for enhanced protection of email traffic against spam and unwanted messages.
Also additional technical services such as a dedicated IP address may be available for certain hosting products or use cases.
The crucial factor here is not to book as many add-ons as possible. An additional option should always fulfill a specific technical or organizational purpose.
How to order an add-on option in the CURIAWEB customer center #
You can access available add-ons directly via the CURIAWEB customer center.
- Log in to CURIAWEB Customer Center a.
- Open the section Services.
- Choose Order additional options.
- Check the available extensions.
- Select the desired additional option.
- Make sure that the extension is assigned to the correct product.
- Check the displayed costs and conditions.
- Complete the order via the customer center.

Important: If your customer account manages multiple hosting products, carefully check which product the add-on is being ordered for before completing the purchase.
What happens after the order? #
Once the order is complete, the additional option will be assigned to the corresponding product or your customer account. How quickly the feature becomes available depends on the specific additional service.
Certain extensions can be activated automatically. Others require technical setup or review by CURIAWEB. In this case, provision does not necessarily take place immediately after payment.
If further information is required from you for the setup, you will receive corresponding information via the customer center, by email, or via a support ticket.
Why is a desired additional option not displayed? #
If you a specific extension under Services → Order additional options you don't find, this can have different reasons.
For example, the additional option:
- not be available for your current hosting package,
- require a different technical configuration,
- be offered only for certain products,
- or not be intended as a separate addon for your existing product.
Please also check if you are logged into the correct customer account and that the product in question is active.

Additional option or larger hosting package? #
An add-on is not always the best solution. If you only need a single additional feature, an extra option often makes sense. If, on the other hand, your project fundamentally requires more resources, switching to a different hosting plan may be the better solution.
A plan change can be useful, for example, if you permanently need more storage space or other resources included in the larger plan.
In this case you do not need to order new hosting. Your existing hosting can be upgraded to a different plan directly via the customer center.

Info As a simple rule of thumb: If you need a single additional feature, check the available addons first. If your hosting requires more resources overall, you should rather consider switching packages.
Check costs and delivery time before ordering #
Before ordering an add-on option, you should carefully review the displayed service information. In particular, pay attention to the costs involved, whether the service is billed on a recurring basis, and which product it is assigned to.
Check also whether you actually need the additional function or if your desired goal can already be achieved with the existing features of your hosting package.
Especially with multiple hosting products, you should check once more before completing the order that the correct product has been selected.
Additional option no longer needed later? #
If you no longer need a booked add-on service later, you should not simply cancel the associated hosting. The main product and the add-on service can be managed separately from each other.
Therefore, check in the customer center which service is actually to be terminated. If you are not sure what impact terminating the add-on will have on your hosting or other services, you should open a support ticket beforehand.
