Cancel cancellation: Keep hosting or service after all

Reading time approx.: 3 minutes

Have you already submitted a cancellation for a hosting package or another CURIAWEB service and now want to continue using the product after all? As long as the service has not yet expired, the cancellation status can generally be removed and the product continued.

Since there is no dedicated button in the CURIAWEB customer center to withdraw a termination that has already been submitted, the withdrawal is made via a Support Ticket. Above all, it is important that you get in touch as early as possible and do not wait until the expiration date.

Important: If you want to withdraw a cancellation, please contact us if possible before the expiration date of the affected service. After expiration, the automatic deletion process begins and a simple reactivation can no longer be guaranteed.

Can a submitted notice of termination be withdrawn? #

As long as the service in question is still active and the expiration date has not been reached, CURIAWEB can normally remove the cancellation status and restore the product to „Active“ Sit.

You don't have to order a new service for this and you don't need to set up your hosting again. The crucial thing is that the cancellation takes place in time, before the originally planned termination process has begun.

If you first want to know how a termination generally works, you can find the procedure in our guide Cancel hosting package or service in the customer center.

Why can't you withdraw the termination yourself? #

An already confirmed cancellation cannot simply be removed in the customer center via a dedicated „Undo“ button. Instead, the reactivation is reviewed by CURIAWEB.

This makes it possible to clearly identify which service is affected and whether reactivation is still possible. This is particularly important when multiple hosting packages, domains, or other products are managed within the same customer account.

How to withdraw a termination #

If you want to continue using a canceled service, create a support ticket as early as possible.

  1. Log in to CURIAWEB Customer Center a.
  2. Create a new Support Ticket.
  3. Name the affected product or domain as precisely as possible.
  4. Let us know that you would like to withdraw the notice of termination you have already submitted.
  5. Submit the ticket.
  6. We are checking the service and will remove the cancellation status, provided that reactivation is still possible.

A detailed explanation is usually not necessary. The crucial thing is that it is clearly recognizable which product is affected and that you still want to keep it.

If you are not yet familiar with the ticket system, you can find the exact procedure under Create a support ticket in the CURIAWEB customer center.

What information should your ticket contain? #

The more precisely the service in question is described, the easier it is to assign your request.

Provide the following information if possible:

  • Name or designation of the product
  • associated domain, if applicable
  • Notice that the termination is to be withdrawn
  • where applicable, additional information if there are several similar services

A possible subject line, for example, would be:

Cancel hosting termination for meine-domain.ch

In the news text, a short, clear message that you still want to use the service in question is then sufficient.

Why shouldn't you wait until the expiration date? #

The decisive point in time is the expiration date of the canceled service. As long as this has not yet been reached, the cancellation status can normally be removed.

After the expiration date, the automatic deletion process begins on the servers. From this point on, you should no longer assume that the previous service can simply be reactivated.

Recommendation: As soon as you know that you want to keep a cancelled product after all, create the support ticket immediately. Do not wait until the last day of the term.

What happens after your support ticket? #

CURIAWEB first checks the relevant service and its current status. If the cancellation can still be withdrawn in time, the cancellation status is removed and the service continues to run as active.

Then check the response to your support ticket. This will let you know whether the cancellation was processed and the service remains active.

Do not rely solely on submitting the ticket to automatically mean reactivation. The corresponding confirmation after processing is decisive.

What applies to a domain? #

If it is a domain, always include the full domain name in the support ticket, for example meine-domain.ch. This allows the domain in question to be clearly identified.

Especially when dealing with multiple domains in the same customer account, you should pay careful attention to which domain should be kept.

If it is simply a matter of a domain being automatically renewed in the future, also check its renewal status. We explain how this works in the guide. Enable or disable automatic domain renewal.

Check the service after reactivation #

After the cancellation has been successfully withdrawn, you should check in the customer center to see if the service is shown as active again.

For important products, also check whether the billing and future renewal meet your expectations. Especially if the cancellation was withdrawn shortly before the end of the term, it is advisable to check open invoices or the status of the service once again.

If the expiration date has already passed #

If the expiration date has already passed, you should also contact CURIAWEB support as soon as possible. Whether and in what form recovery or re-provisioning is still possible must then be checked on an individual basis.

In this case, do not assume that deleted hosting data or data already scheduled for deletion can be automatically recovered. The sooner you get in touch, the better the current status of the service in question can be checked.
