In the CURIAWEB customer center, you can add a Credit add. The deposited credit will then be available to pay invoices and can make it easier for you to manage recurring payments.
This is useful, for example, if you manage multiple domains or hosting services, want to schedule payments in advance, or want to ensure that there is sufficient credit for upcoming invoices during an extended absence.
What is customer credit? #
Customer credit is an amount that you deposit into your CURIAWEB customer account in advance. Instead of paying a future invoice separately only after it has been issued, the deposited credit is already available in your customer account.
The credit balance is assigned to your customer account and can be used to pay invoices. This makes it particularly suitable for customers who regularly incur invoices for domains, hosting packages, or other CURIAWEB services.
Good to know: Store credit is not a separate payment method for individual products, but rather an amount deposited into your customer account in advance that can be used for invoices.
When is credit useful? #
A credit balance can be useful if you want to organize payments in advance and do not want to process each invoice individually.
Typical use cases are:
- You manage multiple domains with different renewal dates.
- You want to provide a specific amount in advance for hosting and domains.
- You will be absent for a longer period of time and would like to deposit sufficient credit on your customer account.
- A company or association would like to provide a budget for ongoing CURIAWEB services in advance.
- Several smaller invoices are regularly issued for your customer account.
An existing credit balance can simplify payment management. Nevertheless, you should still check your invoices and active services regularly in the customer center.
How to add credit to your customer account #
You can add credit directly via the billing section of the CURIAWEB customer center.
- Log in to CURIAWEB Customer Center a.
- Open the section „Billing“.
- Choose „Add credit“.
- Enter or select the desired amount.
- Select one of the available payment methods.
- Complete the payment according to the steps shown.
After successful posting, the deposited amount is available as credit on your customer account.
How quickly a deposit is available as a balance can depend on the payment method used and its processing time. Therefore, check in the customer center after the payment whether the desired amount is already displayed as a balance.
How is the credit used for invoices? #
Available customer credit can be used to pay your invoices. If there is sufficient credit available, an invoice can be paid in full with it.
If the available balance is not sufficient for the entire invoice amount, an open remaining balance may remain. You should pay this in a timely manner using one of the available payment methods.
Important: For important domains or hosting services, do not rely on having some balance in the account. Check whether the available amount is actually sufficient for the upcoming invoices.
Credit and domain renewals #
Customer credit can be especially practical if you manage multiple domains with CURIAWEB. Invoices for domain renewals can occur at different times. Having sufficient credit reduces the effort of having to pay each of these invoices individually.
However, the credit does not replace your domain settings. If you still want to keep a domain, you should also check whether its automatic renewal is set as desired.
We explain how to check and change this setting in the guide Enable or disable automatic domain renewal.
Credit for businesses and associations #
Prepaid credit can also simplify administration for companies, clubs, and organizations. Instead of having to approve many individual payments internally, a specific amount can be provided in advance for ongoing services.
This can be particularly helpful if multiple domains, hosting packages, or other services are managed through the same customer account.
Despite having an available credit balance, the responsible person should regularly check which invoices have been generated, how much credit remains, and which services are still needed.
Check your available balance regularly #
Once deposited, a credit balance can be reduced by the payment of new invoices. If you use it specifically to secure recurring payments, you should therefore regularly check how much credit is still available.
This is particularly important when multiple domains or services are billed through the same customer account. An initially sufficiently high amount may already be largely used up after several invoices.
Therefore, check not only your account balance but also your open invoices and the terms or renewal settings of important services.
Account balance does not replace checking your bills #
Customer credit is a convenient way to prepare payments in advance. However, it should not lead to you losing control over your invoices and products altogether.
Check, especially before longer absences, whether there is sufficient credit and if there are any outstanding invoices. This way, you can ensure that your payment management actually works the way you intended.
