Through the CURIAWEB customer center, you can directly access cPanel access without having to log in there again separately with your cPanel username and password. This is made possible by the so-called Single Sign-On (SSO).
Direct access is especially convenient if you want to manage your web hosting settings, edit email accounts, access files, or manage databases. To do this, simply open your hosting product in the customer center and switch directly to cPanel from there.
Briefly explained: Single Sign-On means that your already logged-in CURIAWEB customer account is used for direct access to cPanel. For this method, you do not need to re-enter your separate cPanel password.
What is cPanel? #
cPanel is the technical management interface for your web hosting. While you mainly manage your customer account, products, invoices, domains, and support requests in the CURIAWEB customer center, you will find the technical functions of your hosting account in cPanel.
Depending on your hosting package, you can perform tasks there such as:
- Create and manage email accounts
- Edit files via the file manager
- Manage FTP accounts
- Create and edit databases
- Manage PHP settings
- Configure domains and subdomains
- Set up redirects
- Access backups via JetBackup
- Use Softaculous and other hosting tools
If you want to learn more about the different ways to log in to cPanel, you can find them in our guide How do I log in to cPanel?.
How to open cPanel via the customer center #
Procedure:
- Log in to CURIAWEB Customer Center a.
- Open the section „Services“ and subsequently „My Services“.
- Select the hosting package whose cPanel you want to open.
- In the product view, open the corresponding cPanel function or button. „cPanel Login“.
- The login process starts automatically and cPanel opens in the browser.
You usually do not need to enter an additional cPanel username and separate cPanel password for this access. Authorization takes place via your already logged-in CURIAWEB customer account.
Customer center and cPanel have different tasks #
Especially for new hosting customers, the separation between the customer center and cPanel is not always immediately obvious.
| CURIAWEB Customer Center | cPanel |
|---|---|
| Manage customer account | manage hosting technically |
| Show products and services | Manage files and databases |
| Invoices and Payments | Set up email accounts |
| Manage domains | PHP and Hosting Settings |
| Support Tickets | Softaculous and Hosting Tools |
The single sign-on connects these two areas. You start in the customer center and from there you can go directly to the technical administration of your hosting package.
Why is direct login convenient? #
Without SSO, in addition to your CURIAWEB customer center login credentials, you would also have to use the separate cPanel login credentials. Especially if you only need cPanel occasionally, direct access via the customer center is much more convenient.
However, SSO access does not prevent a direct login to cPanel from still being possible. Both access methods serve different purposes. For standard management, logging in via the customer center is often the easiest way.
Security for cPanel access via the customer center #
Since your customer center can provide direct access to technical hosting features, you should protect your customer account with corresponding care.
Use in particular:
- a long and unique password
- no reuse of the same password for other services
- two-factor authentication for your customer account
- separate user accounts for other people
We explain how to additionally secure your CURIAWEB account in the instructions Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) in the customer portal.
Safety: Do not share your personal CURIAWEB password with web designers, employees, or external administrators. If another person needs access, set up a separate user account with the required permissions for them.
You can find the procedure under Set up user access for web designers or employees.
cPanel access for web designers or employees #
If another person manages your website, you should first consider what access this person actually needs. For example, a web designer does not automatically need access to invoices or other administrative areas of your customer account.
You can set up additional users and specifically restrict their permissions via the user management.
This is much better than sharing your personal login. Access can be adjusted or removed later without you having to change your own password.
What to do if „Login to cPanel“ does not work? #
If cPanel cannot be opened via the customer center, you should first check a few basic points.
- Are you logged into the correct CURIAWEB customer account?
- Is the hosting package in question active?
- Do you have access to the product in question?
- Do you use an additional user with sufficient permissions?
- Is your browser possibly blocking the redirect?
- Is the customer center session still active or do you have to log in again?
If necessary, first try to log out completely from the customer center and then log back in.
Alternatively, log in directly via cPanel #
If access via the customer center is temporarily unavailable, you can also access cPanel for a CURIAWEB hosting directly via your domain:
https://deine-domain.ch/cpanel
For this direct access, you need your separate cPanel login credentials.
You can find more information about both login options in our detailed guide. cPanel Login: How to log in to cPanel.
If the access still does not work #
If neither direct SSO access via the customer center nor the expected access to your hosting works, you can create a support ticket.
Please name the affected hosting package or the associated domain and describe what happens when you click on the cPanel login. If an error message is displayed, please include it as well.
We explain how to create a request under Create a support ticket in the CURIAWEB customer center.
